According to Channel Insiders layoff tracker, more than 200,000 jobs
have been eliminated by IT companies since October. And the bad news
keeps rolling in. IBM laid off 5,000 from its global services unit and
shifted jobs to India. Sun Microsystems completed its previously
announced job cuts by eliminating more than 1,500 jobs. And even Google
is feeling the strain of the recession, and cut 200 sales and marketing
positions.

Do not despair about the bleak jobs market. There are plenty of
well-paying jobs if you know where to look for them. If you have the
right skills, you could land a six-figure job at some of the more
channel-centric vendors.
