OneAccess Networks, a provider of Converged Services CPE solutions for small to medium-size businesses (SMBs) and enterprises and BroadSoft, Inc., a provider of software that enables mobile, fixed-line and cable service providers to deliver voice and multimedia services over their IP-based networks, announced an end-to-end BroadCloud PacketSmart solution.
With BroadCloud PacketSmart, service providers can assess the configuration and readiness of their enterprise customer networks to support VoIP and data communications solutions. Then once deployed, PacketSmart will continuously monitor every call and identify traffic jams on the communications highway and provide reports on Quality of Service (QoS).
The One1540 CPE is a multi-service router designed for the SMB and enterprise with hardware scalability and software flexibility. With fiber Ethernet access technology options and a four port managed Gigabit Ethernet switch, the One1540 is optimized for hosted, converged services. The product will be available in the first quarter of 2012.
"OneAccess Networks and BroadSoft have a long-standing relationship and continue to seek ways to provide greater value to service provider customers," said Bertrand Meis, CEO, OneAccess Networks. "PacketSmart is another example of our collaborative efforts. We continue to add capabilities to our software-centric solutions that offer service providers the highest level of feature integration required to deliver a roadmap of hosted converged services to the small-medium business and enterprise."
The companies said the software-centric architecture enables service providers the ability to reduce the number of appliances required in the SMB LAN. With PacketSmart’s network monitoring and visibility features, service providers become a trusted partner of the SMB to ensure high availability of their critical business operations.
"With the rapid growth of media convergence, service providers are quickly recognizing they need to actively monitor and diagnose service quality issues and proactively troubleshoot network problems on the customer premises," said David Bukovsky, vice president of products at BroadSoft. "We believe our customers will benefit from this end-to-end, ‘carrier-grade’ solution for converged media networks."
Communication services are mission-critical to the success of any business, and reliability is the top criterion for selecting a service provider said Matthias Machowinski, directing analyst of enterprise networks and video at Infonetics Research. "The integration between BroadSoft’s PacketSmart hosted solution and OneAccess CPE gives service providers a cost-effective mechanism to improve the quality of their converged voice and data services and address this customer requirement," he said.
