AI-powered automation for networking organization Extreme Networks recently announced the upcoming general availability of Extreme Platform ONE for Managed Service Providers (MSPs).

Extreme Platform ONE is a solution built on a unique AI-driven multi-tenant architecture, consumption-based billing, and poolable licensing. It delivers unmatched flexibility, simplicity, and cost savings, enabling MSPs to manage customers at scale.

It will be generally available for MSPs on March 31, 2025.

“By removing heft upfront costs, we enable more MSPs to adopt our model, accelerating time to market and revenue,” said Nabil Bukhari, the chief product and technology officer of Extreme Networks. “Our consumption license grants full control over distribution, activation, and management, while Platform ONE boosts productivity by unifying everything into a single collaborative workspace. This streamlined approach empowers MSPs to drive efficiency and growth with greater speed and simplicity.”

Extreme Platform ONE was announced in 2024

Extreme Networks introduced Extreme Platform ONE back in early December 2024 as a “groundbreaking technology platform that reduces the complexity for enterprises by seamlessly integrating networking, security, and AI solutions.”

The platform includes conversational, interactive, and autonomous AI agents that assist, advise, and accelerate the productivity of networking, security, and business teams. Its AI-powered automation is meant to reduce the time it takes to complete complex tasks from hours to minutes.

“Extreme has challenged the status quo at every step in our journey– from leading the charge in cloud networking to simplifying licensing with Universal hardware,” said Bukhari. “Now, Extreme Platform ONE offers cutting-edge technology and human-centric experiences that transform potential into reality– helping our customers embrace efficiency at every level. For example, in our internal benchmarking, we’ve reduced troubleshooting and remediation times by up to 95 percent. AI is at the core of this platform, but AI adoption will more at the pace of trust, and with Extreme Platform ONE, customers can take advantage of AI no matter where they are in that trust journey.”

The benefits of the Extreme Platform ONE include:

  • Unified experiences: Cross-team workflows via one composable workspace from network and security teams to finance and procurement. The platform uses sleek UI integration workflows, services, and data across domains to deliver customizable real-time information by persona. Customers can use the platform to add new capabilities through ecosystem integration partners that include Intel, Microsoft Security, and ServiceNow.
  • Deep automation: The platform is powered by built-in AI called Extreme AI Expert, which delivers deep automation and flexibility. Extreme Platform ONE’s AI core adapts to every organization’s trust level. It offers conversational, interactive, and autonomous agents to deliver efficiency in learning, planning, delivery, management, analysis, and governance.
  • Simplified licensing: The platform features network and inventory management, AI, and support services included in the subscription. Further, customers will also have the option to purchase or bundle security functionality, thus reducing the burden on stakeholders and procurement teams.

Extreme’s Platform and MSPs

Extreme Platform ONE helps MSPs manage licenses, performance, and service interruptions within a single workspace, reducing the time and IT staff needed for operational excellence. It also assists, advises, and accelerates the productivity of networking, security, and business teams, decreasing the time it takes to complete complex tasks from hours to minutes.

The platform’s centralized approach allows MSPs to gain a comprehensive view of each client’s network health, performance, and security status. The platform also has an AI core that provides deep automation powered by conversational, interactive, and autonomous AI agents.

“Extreme’s MSP program has been a game changer for our business. The consumption-based billing model has provided us with more predictable costs, allowing us to better manage our finances and reduce the risk of our IT investments,” said Cara Parfitt, the VP of Technology Alliances at Logically. “With Extreme Platform ONE, we can efficiently manage all our clients under one platform, which will significantly reduce the time and IT staff required to maintain operations. This will enable us to scale our operations, diversify our service offerings, and ultimately deliver better value to our customers.”

Extreme’s MSP program allows partners to offer networking, security, and AI solutions that scale operations, create differentiation in the marketplace, and accelerate time to revenue. The program currently features over 40 MSP partners.

Extreme aims to help eliminate outsized upfront costs and ensures cost predictability with a consumption-based billing model. Its poolable licensing also allows MSPs to allocate and reassign licenses across devices, locations, or customers to make scaling businesses flexible.

“A flexible networking model is essential for MSPs to stay competitive. Extreme’s approach allows us to scale on demand, reduce financial risk, and deliver high-quality services without being locked into unpredictable costs and rigid commitments,” said Michael Stettner, Managing Director of CMS. “By integrating AI-driven automation and network security, we can further enhance network resilience, proactively mitigate threats, and optimize productivity for both our business and customers.”
