Channel distributor Sherweb has announced a new collaboration with security vendor Check Point Software Technologies. The companies are launching two new cybersecurity solutions to strengthen MSP cybersecurity.
Check Point’s Harmony solutions now available through Sherweb
Through this partnership, Sherweb customers can now access Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration and Check Point Harmony SASE to secure the workspace. The offerings will demonstrate Sherweb’s commitment to equipping MSPs with scalable, innovative tools to defend against modern cybersecurity threats.
“By introducing Check Point solutions to our marketplace, we’re empowering MSPs to meet today’s evolving security challenges with innovative, scalable solutions,” said Benji Germain, VP of Product at Sherweb. “These additions reflect our commitment to helping partners streamline operations, enhance client security, and unlock new growth opportunities with confidence.”
To counteract certain cyber threats, such as phishing, malware, and business email compromise, Check Point Harmony Email & Collaboration will provide an API-driven approach to email security. Harmony Email offers seamless integrations with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. It will ensure MSPs can offer clients unmatched protection and operational efficiency without disrupting existing workflows.
“Check Point’s partnership with Sherweb reinforces its commitment to equipping MSPs with advanced, easy-to-manage security solutions to address challenges like digital transformation, hybrid work, and SaaS proliferation,” said Francisco Criado, Check Point’s VP of Global Partner Ecosystem Organization. “With Harmony SASE and Harmony Email & Collaboration now available in Sherweb’s marketplace, MSPs have access to a competitive edge through unified network and email security solutions that deliver advanced threat protection while being simple to manage. Together, we’re helping partners secure their customers’ critical assets.”
According to the two companies, Check Point’s ability to deliver robust, easy-to-deploy cybersecurity solutions will align with Sherweb’s mission to empower MSPs with tools that can streamline operations and enhance service offerings.
Check Point’s recent acquisition
This collaboration with Sherweb is one of several that Check Point has made in the past few months.
Recently, Check Point acquired Cyberint Technologies, a leader in external risk management. Through this move, Check Point’s Security Operations Center (SOC) capabilities will be enhanced and its managed threat intelligence offerings expanded.
“We are excited to welcome Cyberint to the Check Point organization,” said Sharon Schusheim, chief services officer at Check Point Software Technologies. “Their solution aligns perfectly with our vision of collaborative threat prevention and enhances our SOC capabilities. We will be able to turn identified risks into autonomous preventative actions and work collaboratively across Check Point and third-party security products to contain compromised assets and mitigate external exposures.”
Preparing MSPs for the future of the cyber landscape
Recently, Channel Insider spoke with Sherweb’s Robby Bergeron, cybersecurity technical fellow, to discuss the future of cybersecurity for MSPs and how cyber insurance policies are a key focus for businesses and their channel partners.
In addition to helping organizations protect their workspaces from cyber threats, Bergeron says that the company is reminding partners to do the basics of cybersecurity– as most cyber insurance providers do extensive audits, ensuring the basic expectations are met creates a baseline of success.
There are also many regulatory and compliance frameworks that organizations can utilize.
“If you go through, say, the CIS controls or NIST or any of the other frameworks, and if you achieve everything set out in them, then you’ll be 80 or 90 percent of the way toward what an insurance company would want to see,” Bergeron said. “I’ve seen some insurance companies actually in their questionnaires ask MSPs which of the frameworks they follow.”
Going forward, cyber insurance policies will essentially force providers, vendors, and end-user businesses to examine the risk and liability associated with their infrastructures. Utilizing the offerings and services provided through this new Sherweb and Check Point collaboration could be a starting point for protecting your organization at the most basic levels.
