LogicMonitor has become the latest vendor to announce a new categorization in the FedRAMP authorization system. The company is now labeled “In Process,” which reflects that it is actively working towards full authorization.

FedRAMP progress signals growth in government business

The FedRAMP authorization program is run by the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). The program designates which vendors in the market are deemed acceptable for use by government agencies.

“Achieving the FedRAMP ‘In Process’ designation is a significant step forward in our goal to empower government agencies with the most secure, scalable, and intelligent observability solutions available so they can focus on their missions,” said Will Corkery, LogicMonitor’s CRO. “With LM Envision, government agencies can enhance operational resilience, improve service delivery, and ensure the security of their data centers—all through a single, AI-powered platform.”

According to the company, with LogicMonitor, agencies can:

  • Monitor complex IT environments in real-time, including AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Leverage AI-powered analytics to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize resource allocation.
  • Enhance security and compliance by consolidating monitoring tools and aligning with FedRAMP, FISMA, and HIPAA standards.
  • Ensure uptime for mission-critical systems with predictive analytics and proactive issue resolution.

Observability platform market and government tech demand heat uo

LogicMonitor offers users a secure, scalable, and AI-powered observability platform in both the private and public sectors. The Envision platform empowers government agencies to modernize IT operations by consolidating legacy monitoring tools and gaining real-time visibility across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

The company positions itself as an alternative to established vendors in the space, including SolarWind, and meets a growing demand for a platform that connects disparate technologies and addresses various compliance concerns.

On the other hand, this news also aligns with the growing market for secure, compliant, and efficient solutions as the Trump administration curtails spending. Channel Insider has reported that some service providers are raising concerns about budget cuts affecting CISA, the agency responsible for the FedRAMP program. FedRAMP is also reassessing its priorities due to a “significant” reduction in its workforce. The group will begin a planned cessation of continuous monitoring for cloud services that it has authorized for use.

“What is changing … is the way we support some of the greatest greater continuing monitoring efforts,” he said. “We will no longer be centralizing continuing monitoring efforts and any portions of reviews and analysis we have historically supported in that will transition over to the appropriate parties,” said Paul Agosta, cloud security officer at FedRAMP, at a working group meeting in March.

The FedRAMP authorization process is also likely to change this year as the organization’s leaders roll out “FedRAMP 20x.”
