Observability into disparate data and across an organization’s tech stack is not a new focus for many businesses. However, as the demand for AI continues to rise, it is becoming increasingly important. Channel Insider spoke with Ariel Assaraf, the CEO and co-founder of observability platform vendor Coralogix, for his insights on the growing market.
How the AI boom is shaping observability conversations across organizations
Perhaps more than ever before, organizations worldwide are investing heavily in ensuring their data is properly secured and stored. For many, though, the full-stack observability technologies that leaders have long wanted are just now coming into clearer focus as organizations seek efficient ways to leverage AI models and algorithms internally.
“This data can actually drive business decisions,” Assaraf said. “Suddenly we can link observability to business logic, and to measuring customer experience and success, and then ultimately to revenue, and that’s a very important conversation for the entire organization to have.”
The Coralogix platform, first released in 2017, automates many processes and tools needed to maintain security and visibility across logs and data streams. The platform is built on two engines, called Streama and Data Prime, to analyze all streaming data, store it properly within a customer’s environment, and then remotely query and analyze relevant information about that data.
Coralogix touts security, increased visibility, and real-time reporting insights as the core benefit to the thousands of customers already utilizing the platform.
“Often, we hear customers say they want a single pane of glass to see everything going on in their overall environment, but they have like 15 different tools and someone needs to manage them all,” Assaraf said. “We provide that single view so customers can monitor everything, especially now as AI needs more guardrails and offers more insights.”
Following Aporia acquisition, Coralogix innovates with AI internally
Coralogix completed its acquisition of Aporia last year after several years of discovery and information gathering focused on AI technology. Following the acquisition, most of the Aporia team joined Coralogix, and the company has formed an AI center within its operations to continue innovating.
“This is not an opportunistic move for us to just jump on AI right now,” Assaraf said. “We’re not just getting a couple folks together to build out an interface. We’re investing significantly in an entire team and operation focused on how we can better leverage AI.”
According to Assaraf, Coralogix focuses not only on how the platform can continue to provide observability and security for AI but also on how it can leverage AI within the platform to achieve greater observability support.
The early success of this initiative is seen in recent additions to the platform that specifically address AI-related observability concerns. Assaraf estimates that hundreds of companies were on the waitlist for this new product, which scans all available code to determine where in a business, and for what, an AI-enabled tool is being utilized, in addition to tracking costs, securing against policies and guardrails, and recording relevant compliance information.
How IT, Finance, and more can work together to address observability
Assaraf says he has seen the need for technical and non-technical teams and executives to collaborate on data-related objectives skyrocket over the past few years. This is partly due to the fact that AI demand is centering conversations around data in new ways, but also partly due to the explosion of SaaS applications and other emerging technologies, all of which have contributed to significant tech sprawl and complexity.
Along with all of this, Assaraf says companies need to understand how much information they have at their disposal to influence end customer experience. Observability platforms, such as Coralogix, he says, help unlock the value in internal data.
“Businesses can’t just assume the tech works anymore, and roles in customer service, engineering, and more need to have the right tools in place to do their jobs efficiently,” Assaraf said. “As things get more and more automated through AI, people are still going to need monitor the output, identify security controls, and address customer concerns when things don’t work.”
Assaraf views the demand for visibility and emerging technologies like AI as both a challenge and an opportunity for Coralogix to meet its customers’ needs.
“It’s on us, ultimately, to create that linkage,” Assaraf said. “Tech, finance, and others need a shared language. We can create dashboards and reports that show ROI and potential opportunities, and everyone can understand those and action on them.”
