Object First, a ransomware-proof on-prem backup storage organization, is launching Object First Fleet Manager, a secure, cloud-based service to simplify management of distributed Ootbi backup storage deployments for Veeam environments.
The offering is now generally available and built for enterprises and service providers with distributed backup storage infrastructures. Oobti users with active support contracts get access to the solution at no additional cost.
Fleet management solution promises a zero-trust approach to cluster oversight
Fleet Manager is designed to reduce operational complexity by bringing unified oversight across an organization’s Object First clusters into a single dashboard.
It’s built with zero trust in mind, monitors telemetry data, and has no access to backup data to ensure backups remain absolutely immutable.
“Resilience depends on knowing what’s always happening across your backup environment,” said David Bennett, CEO, Object First.
“Fleet Manager gives enterprises the visibility and control they need to protect their Veeam backup data, and service providers now have a powerful new way to scale their operations and deliver consistent, reliable service to every customer. The result is less complexity, less risk, and stronger outcomes for everyone.”
Centralized views and secure remote access bring partners new ways to address customer needs
Among the features of the Fleet Manager are:
- Centralized fleet view: Users have a single dashboard to monitor multi-cluster deployments, storage utilization, and hardware health, while receiving fleet-wide system alerts from services such as Object First Honeypot.
- Secure remote access: It provides customers with a secure Zero Access, cloud-based service that reduces operational overhead with no additional hardware or software required.
- Cluster operations: Service providers and enterprises can securely monitor multiple customer environments with multitenant visibility to gain insight into outages, overages, and threats.
“Fleet Manager arrives at a pivotal moment in the market. Enterprises are operating across hybrid, multi-cloud, and distributed environments, and if you don’t address this friction, you develop blind spots and increase your exposure,” said Danielle Ibran, Senior Research Analyst, Worldwide Infrastructure Channels and Ecosystems Program, IDC.
“Whether you’re an enterprise or a service provider, customers want their data to be secure, governed, and auditable, but at the same time operationally simple. For service provider partners, managing dozens of distributed backup environments, the complexity keeps adding up. With Fleet Manager, they can scale services more efficiently and improve margins. For the end customer, it’s really about peace of mind. Fleet Manager bridged that gap between those expectations and day-to-day operations.”
Zero Trust has been a staple for secure access in the IT ecosystem for quite some time – a need that Check Point and Apono recognize. Read more about their joint integration to enforce Zero Trust in real-time.
